Sie sind an den Rand gedrangt worden, da sich die westliche Gesellschaft in ihrer Suche nach Jugend und Unbeschwertheit von ihnen bedroht fuhlt. Dies hat zur Folge, dass sowohl Kinder, als auch ihre Lehrkrafte in der Grundschule diese Thematik meiden. Der Tod ist jedoch im Umfeld jedes Menschen prasent. Jeder Mensch muss also fruher oder spater, spatestens auf dem eigenen Sterbebett, mit ihm auseinandersetzen. Diese Arbeit soll der gesellschaftlichen Tabuisierung der Thematik Tod und Trauer entgegenwirken. In ihr soll verdeutlicht werden, wie es beispielsweise durch padagogische Kurzfilme moglich ist, im ev. Religionsunterricht der Grundschule die Thematik zu behandeln. Die Kinder der Grundschule sollen so mit dem Thema in Kontakt kommen, Angste abbauen und einen dem Alter angemessenen Umgang mit Tod und Trauer erlernen. Zu Beginn der Arbeit wird eine theoretische Grundlage erarbeitet, auf die dann die praktische Umsetzung folgt. Des Weiteren wird darauf eingegangen, mit welchen Erfahrungen von Abschied, Verlust und Tod Kinder in ihrem jungen Alter schon in Kontakt kommen konnen. Es schliesst sich dann eine Betrachtung zum Phanomen kindlicher Trauer an. Nach einer kurzen Uberlegung, ob Trauer als Krankheit einzustufen ist, werden die vier gangigsten Trauerkonzeptionen vorgestellt und kurz verglichen. Das Wissen um die Verschiedenheit von Trauerprozessen ist von hochster Wichtigkeit, wenn uberlegt wird, die Thematik in der Schule zu behandeln.
